Great House on the Horizon. I Can’t Wait!

A little story (that explains a lot).

The first year we were married, I believe I got my husband about 3,426 birthday gifts.  Or at least it seemed that way.

The month before his birthday I bought him a gift, and couldn’t really bring myself to wait allllll the way until his birthday to give it to him. So I gave it to him early!

And then I went shopping again, gifted it early again (because I knew he’d love it, and couldn’t wait!), and then went shopping another 3,424 times. Or so.

What this wee story explains is that it is very, very hard for me to wait to give folks things that I know they are going to love! Very, very, very difficult!

And, as a Realtor, this is the same feeling I have when I know there’s a house coming up that is EXACTLY what so many people have been waiting for. I want to wrap it up in a big bow, and can hardly wait for home buyers to able to see it!

There are some houses, that are just so on point for what so many people hope for, that I actually want to CLONE the house (over and over), then wrap them all up, put on all those bows, and run around town tossing them to people who’ve been wishing and wishing for something JUST LIKE THIS.

(If you’re too young to have watched Oprah’s TV show, take a short break here and go search for “Oprah & you get a car.”  Watch the clip. Yup, that’s exactly what I wish I could do with houses!! If you’re old enough to have watched Oprah, you probably don’t need to search it, because the event is likely seared in your memory.)

I can’t clone great houses, I can’t give them away for free. I’m not Oprah, alas.  But I do so, so love this period when homeowners are getting a dreamy house ready for its next owners, and it truly feels like we’re in the process of wrapping it up and tying on the big red bow.

There’s a buyer out there who doesn’t know whether s/he should keep hoping. You should! You’re going to be wonderfully delighted when you untie that figurative bow (otherwise known as: your agent opens the lockbox and finds the key to the front door), and you step inside at your showing, and you just KNOW you’ve come home.

And, as you know from the tale of my husband’s 3,426 birthday gifts, I CAN’T WAIT!!  I think you’re going to love it!
